About

An afterimage is what stays after you look away.

AfterImage lessons are built to work the same way: each one is a single image, so the findings come back when you picture it.

How a lesson is built

  1. One image per lesson

Each lesson is built on a single image. Every numbered object in it stands for a finding.

  2. Narrated one object at a time

The narration walks the image object by object and explains each link. Where it helps, a real clinical photo sits beside the illustration.

  3. Reviewed all at once

The lesson ends by revisiting every marker in order, so the whole picture is the last thing you see.

  4. Explored again later

Open the image on its own and tap any object for a reminder, or hide the answers and test yourself.

Where the pieces come from

Illustrations
Images from an illustrated study deck made by an ophthalmologist.
Clinical photographs
From openly licensed publications, credited in full under each lesson and on the image credits page.
Narration
Read by a synthetic voice, so a lesson can be corrected quickly when an image or a detail changes.
